Measure the "wound channel depth" using a .270 brass rod. Will work more on load development next spring. In summary, these are my findings and all I can say is with this Hammer bullet, I have total confidence in my cold bore shot on live game. The bullets are very accurate. I rested the rifle for a couple of minutes and took a POA at the bottom of the inner diamond and did the same thing. Hammers do have a sligtly lower BC than any tipped copper bullet. Not my testing but some video I saw on youtube. I have Hammered 4 hogs with this bullet from 45 yards to 125 yards. I guess that will do. I plan to use it for my wife and daughter as a low recoil antelope hunting round. I have taken five animal to date with the 124 Grain Hammer Hunters out of my 6.5 PRC at 3300 FPS and the results have been fantastic. Cant wait to drop some bears with these bullets.
